Saga Consulting is assisting a woodland management contractor to develop a bio-power plant to generate electricity and district heating in a mountainous region of Tuscany, Italy.
Power generation will take place through the combustion of wood chips resulting from forest maintenance activities. The project is eligible for carbon credits and green certificates under existing EU and Italian legislation.
The project will bring revenue and recognition to an area of Italy where sustainable forest management, tourism and enchanting landscapes have co-existed for centuries.
