Environmental Audits of Naval Assets
Saga Consulting has been retained by leading EPC contractors to assess the suitability of working vessels, such as Pipelay Barges, Heavy Lift ships and dredging vessels, to meet international and Project Specific Environmental Standards.
The assessments are carried out on the basis of Marpol, ROPME or other International agreements on the protection of the marine environment. Key issues are associated with sewage management, bilge water management, on board waste management and oil spill prevention and response.
Project Specific standards are frequently developed by Oil Companies who operate in sensitive offshore environments such as Sakhalin Island or the Persian Gulf.
Typical issues include noise abatement, zero discharges at sea and reduction of air emissions.
